I bought some cheap kenwood 6 1/2's for my car and some 6x8 kenwood 3-ways for my rear deck? I believe the rms rating is 35 for the fronts and I'm not sure about the rears. Should I run a small amount of power to these, if I even can?

I am very new and dumb to car audio. Bare with me.

If the sound quality and power from your head unit does not meet your standards, then go ahead and add a 4 channel amp. As a rule of thumb, use an amp that matches the RMS of your speakers or just slightly exceeds the RMS rating of your speaker. With an external amp, the sound will be louder, and clearer (assuming that you use a decent 4 channel amp). A Kenwood 4 channel would suit you fine if your not looking to drop much money on the amp.
