can i afford it?

I been wantin to get a jacked up powerstroke for 4 or 5 years now. I love the way they look and sound. Ill be in the market for some kind of newer jacked up truck in a couple months. Im wondering if i could afford a 99-2000 powerstroke f250 and ive also been lookin at 99-2000 chevy 2500's. I start working in a few weeks again and i start at bringin home $1550/month. Then after 90 days ill be bringin home $1700/month both after taxes. I did a insurance quote on both and insurance would cost me about 400/month. payments would cost me about $300 a month. So BOTH payments would be about 700 a month. Ill be movin out after i get w/e truck and stayin with a buddy splittin housing costs. Do yall think i would have enough money to pay for a truck like this or should i go with something smaller like a 97 f150 jacked up, it was alot cheaper payment and insurance wise.

Thanks in advance,

Michael

Just get somethin that'll be reliable for about a yr or yr 1/2 and just bank all your money. And if so possible live at home for aslong as possible its free rent.

they way im thinkin is $700/month towards truck. Housing would be about

$300/month + 1/2 utilities.. i need somethin to drive asap thats why i want to get one before i move out. If i HAVE to i would settle with the f150.

Man 1700 aint alot when you get out and your paying for your own shit. 1700-700 boom your down to 1000 then you gotta pay for rent so well say 300 to be modest 1000-300 700 left then gas so youll atleast spend bout 150 on gas a month 700-550 then bout 100 in food and such 550-100 left with bout 450 and then theres always other shit that comes up. Just wouldnt be wise for you to move out and get a big as car payment right now.Just my 2 pennies

I think your insurance company is raping you. The 7.3L powerstroke is a beast though. Good luck.
I just turned 18 not even a month ago and it will be my first truck since i have my license. Thats prolly why, thats the cheapest quote there was to the others were like 630/month JUST for insurance. And oh yea insurance will be a little cheaper than $400 because ill be on my parents insurance. so im guessin about $350/ month, prolly not to big of a difference.
