Man 1700 aint alot when you get out and your paying for your own shit. 1700-700 boom your down to 1000 then you gotta pay for rent so well say 300 to be modest 1000-300 700 left then gas so youll atleast spend bout 150 on gas a month 700-550 then bout 100 in food and such 550-100 left with bout 450 and then theres always other shit that comes up. If your looking for a 99-02 F-250 for that, you might as well look for something else. Its hard to find a decent one for under 15,000.

You could get a pretty nice 97-01 or so F-150 for that though.

From what I seen, Rangers and F-150 are very close in price for same year model and mileage. With this being said you get alot more truck with the F-150 than a Ranger.

If your going for a all out monster, get the F-250, but if you dont really need the extra power and such, get the F-150.
