Can birth control cause depression?

Hey.

Girlfriend has been on birth control for almost a week now. Today was a very "down in the dumps" day for her, and for no particular reason. Nothing bad happened, nothing went wrong, no fights, nada. Just she felt kinda depressive.

So, were wondering if a symptom just kicked in, and what to do about it if anyone has had any experience.

yes, she need to bring this up to here gyno. or general. there could be many caused, she may need a different pill or type of BC, but the system is tricked into various things and the hormones are one of the things that get out of wack, I would urge her to see her DR.

alright thanks. I told her we would wait a day or two to see if it keeps happening. If her mood level stays the same we'll get her off it, and then make time of a Dr. appt.

I was just wondering though if this kinda thing wears off or what.

In all seriousness though yes , my wife has been on all of the pills and ended up going off them totally due to more of her being in pain than anything but yeah it causes all kinds of issues and is just not the right solution for some chicks.
