I got a phone call from my mother this morning, and I answer the phone to hear her balling. Scared the shit out of me because she has my daughter while I'm down in Texas. She tells me that my uncle passed away. Hit me really hard, he was one of my best friends. He passed away sometime between last night, and this morning. I'm going to be doing a project car for him, 'cause he always liked my stereos, and always knew when I was coming over. The car will probably be my current daily driver, once my girlfriend and I choose a new vehicle, it's a 1996 Mercury Mystaque. I'm going to do 8 8" subs, or 2 18's walled and roughly 3000-4000WRMS. I'm hoping to have it completed by the anniversary of his passing, so within a year. I want to be able to reveal it to my family when we have our get together. This is going to be a loud car, but mainly a build for the 'Wow' factor, since my uncle amazed many people. I'll most likely use MA Audio MA-800XL subs, since they have a 'rated' continuous power handling of 400WRMS. Those are also fairly cheap, and would only cost about $500. Haven't looked at 18's, since it just came to mind. Amp(s) will not be decided, until I know for a fact what I am going with, and how much room I have. If necessary I will remove the seats, and build a wall into the trunk. For the head unit I will probably keep my Sony CDX-F7710 if it survives that long. Mids/Highs will be Hypnotic Zen 6.5's, possibly 2 sets (depending on price). If they aren't loud enough to keep up with the substage, I will probably get 2 sets of RSDs. if I can find a dealer that will ship them to me. I've got a year to complete this, so hopefully I can actually afford the plan, and stick to it.
This is not some start of a fucking scam, so don't start any of that bullshit. I'm not trying to get donations. I'm just telling you all what I want to do, and I needed some 'venting time.'
