can alternator affect electrical?

can my voltage drops affect my a/c? i've noticed that my heater isn't as hot when i'm driving in traffic or idling. but when i'm at 2rpms, when the alternator "cuts on", it blows really hot. just wondering if maybe i replaced it if it would be consistenly hot. anyone have any experience with this?

i am not really sure, but i think it does affect your alt.
