I have these and they sound GREAT. I got em for $106 shipped, though. These things are massive, and the build quality very nice, though I've seen better....but only from speakers costing 2-3 times as much. I'd NEVER pay the suggested retail for them, though. For $106, I DEFINETALLY got my money's worth. They have a great midbass, and the tweeters sound phenomenal as well. They cover a very nice range and blend in perfectly with my subs since they go so low without distorting. The amp I have these on is an old Kenwood KAC-929 amp that's rated at 1000w, but I don't think could get there if it tried. I found a bench test for them online that found them to be ~150w X 2 @ 4ohms, as stated before, and that suites them well....but I probably wouldn't go any higher. I feel that Cadence over-rated that speaker by a bit, IMO, but it's still very nice sounding and it's VERY hard to make it distort. The x-overs have a -3db, 0, +3db adjustment switch built in for tweeter response, as well.
For purchasing, contact the
ebay store "Cadencedirect"...they're a liscensed US dealer that sold me mine. They were running a sale which is how I got them for so cheap, but I was watching them for a few months hoping I'd find a set for cheap. They're usually at $199 from that audiosavings seller. I'd bet that cadencedirect would sell them for $150 shipped easily, as they sold me my CVL-6K comps for that price....also well worth the money. The crossovers with the 6K's look to be a better build quality, but on Cadence's website they price them at a crazy dollar amount of like $550. I guess if I ever paid that much I'd expect them to install themselves.
I paired the CVL-S69's with a set of CVL-6K components (as mentioned before) in the front and they mesh perfectly. I'm awaiting 2 Diamond Audio D3 400.2 amps in the mail that I'm going to power both sets off of. They only put out a rated 100X2 @ 4ohms, but I think it'll be perfect for them since DA tends to underrate their amps. The 50X2 Hifonics Mercury amp I have them on along with the Pioneer DEH-P980BT can't get the CVL-6K's to start distorting at all.
I know that Cadence isn't very well known in the US...hell before I bought them I'd NEVER heard of them. But I'm pretty happy I went with them because I got them for such a good price, and their specs meet those of much more expensive speakers from well known brands. They use good quality materials, like cast and machined Aluminum baskets, and use good solid wiring and soldering for their 3-way speakers. To put it in perspective, I had a set of Polk Momo MMC-6500's in the front before the 6K's, and the Cadence comps outperform them by a long shot. Even the tweeter in the 6K's weigh more than the Polks....and there's no cheap plastic like the Polks either. But hey...I'm new here....what's my opinion matter.
(As a side note, the grilles that come with it hide everything very nicely, but it would probably be cool if you had them with a 350Z, as that logo covering the mid and tweet looks similar to the Z's logo.) //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif
