I have had this amp for awhile and have the gains set for my 2 ohm kappas pretty good to where you cant hear all the alternator noise coming through the speakers, but it seems that the amp gets so hot on the heat sink and the main body of the amp to where it is untouchable. I was looking at a mrp-f600, would that amp be better with more efficency? This is my first system and I am thinking, that an amplifier is not just an amplifier. The alpine and J/L exceed the rest. Please correct me if I am wrong. Thank you.

It would also be easy to add an equalizer to have individual rca inputs for all of the channels. A decent one can be had for less than $40...
