looking to power the 2 FEW-12s i'm gettin' from zane. i had pretty much decided to get a Profile CA800 to run them; it'll give me 200RMSx2 @4 ohms, or 300RMSx2 @2 ohms, or 600RMSx1 @4 ohms (bridged).

my questions are:

1. will this amp be enough to give these two a good push? i've observed that they can probably take more (though Fusion rates them at 200RMS each), but i'm just concerned with whether or not the CA800 will give me good bang, even though it's not the most expensive amp.

2. if i do go with the CA800, how in the beans should i wire it? what would be the downside to wiring it up @2 ohms? or 4?

3. if the CA800 is no good for what i wanna do (and it should be fine), what do you suggest? i'm already a bit over-budget as it is, so i'm not looking to spend anymore than $150 on an amp, shipping included. are there any other decent-quality alternatives in this range, that might suit my needs?

thanks again, all!

well, judging from the lack of replies, i'll assume there aren't too many amps that can deliver the same power/quality as the Profile, at least, not in it's price range. that's not a bad thing at all.

so, if no one has any other ideas as to which amp should i purchase, do you folks think that the CA800 will at least be... adequate? thanks.

The CA800 should be fine. Wire it in two channel mode (Stereo) 1 sub per channel.

As the Fusions are 4 ohms/sub - running the amp bridged into them would yeild a 2 ohm mono load- which the amp can not handle.

Run it stereo and you should be fine.

$150 is going ot be somewhat tough to find a large number of capable amps, however, have a look arround these sites to see if there is anything you like.

hey zane: about that Tsunami GXA1000D on eBay: how would i wire this up? do i bridge the amp to the subs, resulting in a 2ohm load? this would fetch me about 350RMS to each, i guess. do i have this right?

wonder if that would be better than the CA800...

That would take the Fusions down to 2 ohms mono at the amp.
