just cause the rsd's are inexpensive doesn't mean they can't sound good and maybe compare to things that cost much more. i'm not saying they will smoke rainbow and hertz speakers that cost $500 + but they might hang pretty well with them in the right install.

just like a lot of cheaper subs sound better than some more expensive subs.

price alone doesn't mean anything.

To your post though, you ran the HD at 125rms per side which is far below what they like. 150rms is recommended and 175-200rms makes them really come to life. i am interested though in the comparison, and I may do one myself for my own opinion on the matter. but i think this is just another flavor of the month like so many others out there have come and gone. While they are good they still are cheap for a reason and don't always stack up to what people hype them up to.

Yeah and it was 125 watts from an Arc amp that is very clean (probably underrated so more like 150-170ish). IMO the CDTs did not take the power very well. I don't see how they could stand 175-200 (of actual power) per side. What's gullible about a great pair of speakers that don't cost an arm and a leg??

Because the review of "some friends at school" shouldn't make people run out and buy anything. Heck, a review from a place I'd listen to like 6moons.com wouldn't make me run out and buy something, by itself - at best, it's a collection of one or several differing opinions...at worst, you have people that can't tell a difference between a 128k MP3 and original album, and yes, there are people out there like that in the guise of "reviewers" //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

ditto. Just cause one likes it doesnt mean you will. When it comes to car audio price is totally useless. It will never tell you what is better to your ears. Heck if you ask me every single speaker available is over priced. If you saw what some of these high dollar sets cost to make, you would probably never buy a set of speakers again lol. It will be a fun thing to compare the 2 just for kicks but ya never know what the outcome will be regardless unless you try it yourself and draw your own conclusion.

Having Installed a few higher end sets such as the polk srs, pg titanium elites, focal k2ps( hated the tweets), and a few other sets, and for the most part, the rsds didnt compete. The midrange lacked compared to some of the other sets. The rsds are nice, but they In no way will I say they compete with 500+ sets. I will say this though, the midbass is better(louder) than most any sets ive auditioned/ installed. If someone really likes midbass, I can see them picking these sets over others..

No, the output is fine. The midrange just simply was not as nice as some of the others. Im not going into detail about it. Im just laying it out there to not expect them to compete with highend sets. I like the sds alot, but lets keep this in perspective people.. I will say this for that price, I havent heard anything pasive come close..
