Is Ozzy signed through the end of this year?

Wonder what they're going to do with their goaltender status next season. I can't see Hasek trying to come back again, and I think it's time they moved on anyway. Ozzy proved he still has what it takes, but he's getting old. I know Detroit has a great goalie in their system (forgot his name), wonder if we'll see him getting some time next year?

Jimmie Howard...that's who it is. Heard good things about him.

On the goalie forum I frequent, they're talking about Ozzie's potential for the HOF. At first, I didn't think he'd even come close to being considered, but when you look at what he's done over his career, and if he can put in another 2-3 good seasons, he may very well land in the hall..

Well, Pitt has won 4 to 1 and have a stranglehold on the series just as Detroit does on Dallas.

I wonder if either of them will SWEEP or if Dallas or Philly have enough heart to muster up a win and avoid being swept.

Either way I see Pitt vs Detroit for the Cup finals.

honestly, what you can you really expect to get out of a team when they need to resort to bringing up defensemen from the AHL. But I agree on the luck aspect of it. We never have it on our side

yah ozzie has some crazy good numbers for a goaltender, shut outs, wins, save % all that BUT look at the team he has played behind for the majority of his career. The Wings dont exactly make full use of their goalies LOL.. Hasek, on the other hand.. I dont think he can handle the Wings keep away game, and gets cold sitting in net, thus allowing stooooooooopid goals which inevitably leads to him getting yanked. I said it all along Osgood through the playoffs with Hasek backing him up. And I was VERY suprised to see Hasek actually start the playoffs. But It only took a few games of the typical Hasek bad goal antics to get him the boot!! YaY for Wings!!!

As for the finals.. Man if the Wings are in them, I cant see them losing. And thats not because I am a Red Wing fan, and have followed them for over 20 years. But if anyone has watched the 4 teams LEFT, they are playing 2 totally diffrent games and I dont think the East Coast has what they will need to take 4 games from the Wings stranglehold on the playoffs. Even with the alleged "2 headed scoring monster" in the Pens... I dont think the rest of the team is ready to get worked. Keep in mind, Detroits top goal scorer for the last 20 games, AND the playoffs hasnt even played the last two games!

I hear ya there. I couldn't believe Hasek got the nod over Osgood either especially when you factor in how much better he was than Hasek during the course of the season. When Hasek lost those 2 games in Nashville I wanted to kill Hitchcock but he finally removed his head from his anal cavity and made the change. The change that may be responsible for hoisting the cup in a few weeks.

Wow, just got done watching the Red Wings getting hosed in Dallas. They called goalie interference against Holmstrom when he never touched Turco, nor was he in the crease. And low and behold that for some reason is NOT reviewable. Sounds like that is the league's way of keeping things in control to an extent. Either way it was a complete bullshit call and now I guess the Wings will have to clinch this in Detroit.

They said on the radio, neither skates were in, but his butt was in the crease.

NOPE. It wasn't. Watch the aerial view and you'll see. That call changed the WHOLE complexion of the game. It was was a hose job plain and simple.

But it's ok though, I have no problem with them clinching in Detroit.

Looked like the Wings were trying something diffrent for the game. Perhaps toying with the idea of playing a more defensive game in the beginning. Not forechecking much at all, THEN decided to turn it on and go get a goal (which happened in like 45 seconds after they kicked it up a few notches) UNTIL the refs decided they wanted to play too....... O Well, its only 1 game. We have 3 more to beat the Stars and move on. Well, the Red Wings removed their heads from their butts in game 6 and ended the Western Conference Finals tonight.

Now it's the Penguins and the Red Wings for the Stanley Cup.

My prediction? Red Wings in 5 or 6.
