C&d battieries

IMO USPS batteries aren't great for car audio since their main design is to put out low current over a long time instead of lots of current draw at one point then bouncing back. We compared 4+ of the big C&D batteries vs 2 D3100's the d3100's were actually louder on the TL after a bunch of testing.

A very good battery you can get for a good price is the Sears Diehard Marine Platinum group 31. It is the EXACT same battery as the Odyssey 2150, Odyssey makes them for Sears. The Odyssey 2150 retails for around 350+, the Diehard retails 250-270 brand new with a 3 year no questions asked warranty.

I agree... Not with using XS but that UPS batteries are not the answer..just another band aid for everyone to try and save money.
They have worked great for me and plenty of others. Im sure they arent as good as XS or a true high quality AGM, but it beats having serious voltage drop and destroying your equipment IMO.

Honestly, Why have multiple HEAVIER inferior batteries when you could have a few stronger batteries for around the same price and less weight?

More doesn't always equal more.

You could get like 2 possibly 3 134ah batteries for the price of 1 xs 3100 or xp3000 dOnt see the point ATM but maybe in the future when money ain't a issue xs will come into play

People focus on AH, that is something you should not focus on unless you are playing your music at low volume for a long time. You should really look at Cold Cranking amps, Cranking amps, or Short circuit amps. CCA is personally my favorite because it is a 500 amp draw over 30 seconds.. Which is what happens with car audio.

same price?????????????
Where
The bigger UPS batteries go for around 100-200 each, people usually buy multiples..

As I stated Up there ^ The Diehard plats are strong and you can get them for 250 that are just as strong as the d3100.. We tested them up against the diehards and the d3100's were only .01 louder on the TL

And I have tested a few c&d's againts d3100s and no difference at all...Numbers are nice, but real world performance>specs

As an example, I have a Schumacher CCA tester(not sure how accurate it is, but it is what it is I guess). After desulfating and charging my 21lb(26ah) C&D batteries and letting them rest for a full 2 days to return to their 12.7V resting voltage, I measure 425CCA's with the Schumacher tester. That is higher than an XS D680 and nearly twice as much as an Odyssey PC680.

It also measured my 100lb Powerware batts to be around 1200-1300CCA, so I assume the tester is rather accurate. Oh, and it also was within 25-50CCA's of my starting battery's listed rating(865).
