A lot of younger voters look more on social aspects when voting rather than economic from what I see at least. For example, my girlfriend's parents are pro abortion in MOST cases (if it's a **** case, mother is not fit to have children etc.) but she won't vote for a democrat, because she doesn't believe in their economic policies. However, most people I go to school with will never vote conservative because they cannot stand the sight of banning abortions, unequal rights for gays (or even more unequal rights I should say), and other social aspects that each party holds.Yes, espeically when they know next to nothing about how things work, business, gov'e or otherwise....And yes, they will be out next voters.....Thats why i'm scared. They're ignorance is nothing more than perceived intelligence......Hope for conserv. new young people!
So all this stuff about dumb young voters is kind of stupid in my opinion. A lot of them just hold different values than others. They stick to their social values, like I for instance will never vote for someone who will want to outlaw abortion. I'm not asking for a debate on abortion here, it's just a right that I believe should not be taken away from us. There are many other things socially that keep me on the liberal side, so I tend to pay less attention to the economic side of things. Call me ignorant or w/e, I don't really care. The fact is that nothing is always the government's fault and we need to stop blaming the liberals or the conservatives for everything that goes wrong. Talk about ignorance, when you blame a party for the collapse of GM, if that's not ignorance I have misunderstood the definition.
