It's amazing you don't see that as the problem it is. It's not the gov'ts job to bail them out or make them get their shit together. That's called "socialism". The gov't should not have help chrysler. Because they were "too big to fail"? Does that sound like something you've heard recently? The banks were insured, they wern't "helped out". They paid for that insurance.

Do these emision controls effect fuel millage? Why are other countries less strict? How about loaning them money they can't pay back? Yes. I'm sure it would surprise him to learn that the reason GM is in the tank has nothing to do with the auto division. It's because GM runs one of worlds largest finacial services companies called GM Capital. They took profits from thier auto, and many other industries, and invested it in the market. They made bad loans, bad stock picks, and invested heavily in high risk hedge funds.

Those investments took a shit, and now they want the gov't to bail them out to reward them for bad money management.

BTW, Ford did not do that.
