bx1000d installation

I just installed my BX1000d but not getting any sound out of my subs. Everything seems to be hooked up right, the bright blue logo is on, does this basically mean my subs dont work (subs are old) or could something not be hooked up correctly?

What could you use to check the subs without taking it to a car audio dealer and have them checking it for a fee.

Also, Could I hook up an old 6 1/2 speaker to the 12guage speaker wire to test the amp or wouldnt this work for some reason.

What could you use to check the subs without taking it to a car audio dealer and have them checking it for a fee.

first, go over to the wiring sticky, check that your subs' impedance matches what the amp can drive. If you've got them wired up correctly, make sure your gains are set according to (yes again!) the sticky that's posted in this forum. If *that* doesn't make them bump, try a 9V battery on the speaker box terminals to test the subs...

and yeah, you can hook speakers up to the terminals to test the amp. just make sure the volume is low.

make sure the RCAs are correct...does your HU have a Sub setting? Its ok to put a 6.5 on it for a second to test it...

THANks for the help. I forgot the gains are backwards on the hifonics amps.

?? So you though the gain was all the way up when it was down?
