I have a issue going on and I really need some technical help on it. I have two sets of SLC 265.25 KICK NG Component speakers. They are all hooked up to a Hifonics ZXI 8408 amplifier. When I first installed everything I didn't have any problems at all everything worked perfectly.... Ok so I was driving along and one of the crossovers in the back of my car fell off and pulled out the speaker wires going to one of the speaker woofers and all of a sudden I here a whoop and a pause and then a loud whoop whoop and then all of a sudden all four of my tweeters started to make a buzzing/humming sound..... When the car is on the humming is louder then if the car is not on. When the volume is on 0 you can hear the buzzing/humming sound and when you turn up the music the humming sound does not get louder but still is there.... Now I know that the speaker wire or the crossover had to of hit some metal or something, would that ruin the crossover? I checked all my fuses on the amp and the power distribution block I have and they are all fine. All my amps go on. But there is a weird thing going on with my Power Distribution block now the amp reader on my power distribution block is reading the amps and it is going from 50 to 120 and I have two 80 amp fuses in there, and I remember before it didn't do that but that might not have anything to do with the problem.... But all the speakers still work when I turn the sound up and they still sound good except for the loud buzz do you have any clue what could be causing this? If one of the crossovers was having issues would it cause that? Or could it be a issue with the RCA's? Any help with this issue would help me out so much I can give you more info just ask thanks a lot for your time.

Now I know I have about a quarter of a inch of speaker wire that is bare going to the amp that is connected to the crossover that might be causing the problem //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif

I hope that is it..... I just wounder if that would be able to cause a humming/buzzing going threw all the speakers? I am going to re splice that when I get home from work I just hope that fixes the problem. I was thinking it could be the grounds too because I got a Soundstream Power Plant 2 which both amp grounds go too and I was thinking about re ground the speaker amp's ground cable somewhere else to see if that solves the noise issue. If that doesn't work I have no idea what else I could do...

So I checked if it was the amp by switching amps and that isn't the problem. I changed the ground and that isn't the problem. I check the power distribution block and that isn't the problem. Now it still could be the RCA's or the crossovers causing the noise any suggestions I really need some help cant really afford to just drop it off at a car stereo place and pay all this money to have them figure out the problem....

I never had that problem until the crossover fell off and the speaker wire possibly hit it causing this weird problem so what could be causing the electrical interference?

I just noticed when I was by my engine bay a humming/buzzing coming from my engine bay in the center by the firewall when the key is turned all the way before you start the car or when the car is started, but if the key is turned on so just the cd player turns on there is no noise coming from the engine bay or my speakers. So what the hell could that noise be it actually sounds like the noise that could be coming threw the speakers. Do you have any idea why a noise like that would be coming from my engine???

something is shorting with a ground connection. rca's on a HU can do that, alternators cause whine, popping, and hissing. check all your wiring. to that amp and from that one to the speakers. then go from there.

Isn't it weird that all this happened because the crossover fell off pulling out the speakers wires and them hitting each other or metal? So do you think it could be a ground or the RCA's? When I get home the first thing I am gonna to do is try using the subwoofer rca that is still working correct and move that to one of the front or back rca's on the deck and see if it is the RCA's and if that isn't it then I will test moving the grounds, and then check I will have to check all the wiring if those don't work.

Ok so I know for a fact it is not the amp that is messed up I tried and fully switched the amp wires to the other amp and still the same noise.... I moved the grounds around and that did not do anything for the sound going threw the speakers. I took the deck out and switched a new rca in there and connected it to the amp and it still made the noise so it is not the rca's. Then I wanted to make sure it was not the crossovers so then I hooked up just one of the speakers directly to amp and it still made the noise the noise is actually going threw all the speakers. So now that brings me to the fact that it could be the deck and cant a car audio place check it and would be able to see that the deck is faulty? That is the last thing I can think of I want to just bring my car to a car audio place and talk with someone and see what they think it is I mean the deck seems like a obvious thing that could be faulty.
