buying new subs.

currently i own the polk db 212-2 subs with the polk enclosure. the subs sound great and are very loud however they are lackign spl for my taste. i want to go with a kicker L7 but my friend has had tons of problwems with his. we are going to test it and such and see if its jsut his or not but i was gonan get a new l7 for 150 and with shipping 180 and either buy or build a box to fit my car. should i go with the 1 l7 over my polks? id get 2 but i need 2 see if i can fit 2 with a ported box in my trunk as well as id have to get another amp.
