i've been having alot of trouble trying to find a website that sales car alarms. anybody have a solid website with alot of trusted brands?

what would you guys suggest i put in my 87 accord. i don't want anything fancy. i jsut want it to get the job done. i'm looking to spend about 200 - 250 on it

Circuit City did mine. $140 with installation. I believe it is a "hornet" system. Meh. I didnt feel like installing =\

get one of those Scyteks off of asianwolf.com they are pretty decent. i work for a viper dealer and have used scytek on my cars for awhile now with no issues. very good alternative for the money. 2-2way remotes, remote start, shock sensor, glass breakage sensor for $120 shipped

i went into a shop today and asked them how much it would be for a basic alarm and install. they said it would be 240 all togeather. they said they would be using a hornet system. are they good?

pretty much everything is DEI now, including hornet and all the brands listed here, and some that aren't listed there.

They all benefit from each other's quality and you are really only paying for the brand name.

Depends on how "basic".

Hornet's lower end alarms are fairly cheap, so most of that could be labor cost.

If you were in the bay area, my friend said theres a shop that installs viper 791vx [ dont know if its right ] but they will install it for $300.

Never heard of Arrow 5.

Most basic alarms will do the same thing. It's the installation that will determine if your car will get jacked or not.
