Buying broken headunit

Theres a guy selling a kenwood double din for 40 dollars he says he doesn't know what is wrong with it it just won't turn on. Anyone know what could be wrong and if it's worth buying it? He says it has gps and sirius

you can get nice headunits for cheap these days

it could be something as simple as it being wired incorrectly, but how much is your time worth? and what if its more than that?

Years ago i bought a broken eclipse 7100 hoping to get it repaired, and end up with a great deck below market value... ended up being a waste of time and money
