I have it from a very intelligent source (he is an engineer for a QUALITY audio company, and he owns the same model oppo as well) that the video components are top notch, but the audio layout is somewhat of a joke.

Are you using the analog out? If you are and the digital out might be better then. I only used mine for movies and used the digital out. Was an ok player, I like my Pioneer Elite much better...

Yeah, Fry's usually has good prices, and pretty good sales, too. I was originally looking at a Sony Wega and they had the best price on em.
