Ok, first off, I am trying to keep my budget as low as possible (highschool student).
Right now I have a 97 Ford Escort, with a Kenwood KDC-X579 head unit powering infinity reference speakers. I want to add a bit of low end to my system, and I am going for SQ over SPL.
Here is what I am looking at right now:
Infinity Kappa 100.3DVC (~$95)
JBL BP-150.1 (150w@2ohms) ($60)
Q-Logic QLH-.6510SE Subwoofer Enclosure ($55)
10-Gauge Streets wires wiring ($25)
DIN Headunit removal tools ($5)
Shipping ($12)
This brings my total to about $250, all going through car domain. I figure I can wire the Kappa for 2 ohms since it is a dual voice coil.
Since this will be my first time ever installing anything car audio related, and my first time buying subs, I was wondering if any of you have any suggestions or tips for me. Have any of you had any experience with any of these items, and is there a way I could bring the price down?
Thanks a bunch
