buying a new alternator

bad choice of words on my part....I dont have any expierence with a starter battery running my whole system which isnt much at the moment and it "killing" the battery......so I should shut the f* up huh? hah im sure it doesnt kill them but when you go into the technical differences deep cycle batteries are meant for accessories....car audio being one of em

To Twistid~ Since your alternator is on a GM product (I assume the '89 Buick Century mentioned in your sig is the car in question?) and should have a Delco-Remy alternator as the stock unit look into seeing if there is an alternator rebuilder in your area. i already stoped my pepboys and me + buddy installed it last night , although we still gotta hook up the belt (thats a real ***** to do) , it was 80 bucks for a pro-start refurb, and did you know if you dont bring in your old alt they CHARGE you 30 extra bucks! what a rip! oh well... yea i did need this asap because i was having to drive another car im not supposed to, hopefully in a week or so ill start another thread on the sub/amp buildup //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

If I were buying a new alt i would get a 120 or 130amp alt. if you are going to upgrade might as well do it right.

keep in mind that you might need a new belt if the pulley is bigger.

Those are horrid. Why would you even tell him to get one of those??
