i have 2 diamond audio CM312D2 12in subs in this box:

and it hits some incredible lows, but when the bass drum hits it distorts or over powers the subs or something... they make a nasty sound when it hits the bass drum basically at any freq when the volume is turned up... i am thinking about swaping these out for a set of alpine type-R 12's in the same box... what do you think? whould they hit hard in this box and not ping out like the Diamond audio's that i have?
i am using a Kenwood KAC-9102D amp at 2ohms:
