Car just completly shut off while driving

I was just driving home from work and I had a song on with a ton of bass right where my box peaks so it was very loud. I was coasting to a red light when my truck just shut off on its own.

The weird part of this is my lights weren't even dimming. I still have a stock alt. for my orion 2500d which is running at .7 ohm. I'm guessing this was from the amp pulling too much. Anyone else ever have this happen?

Its happens to me, Ive got a 94 Crown Vic and about 5 minutes of max spl bass trips the fuel pump cutoff switch in the trunk. I have yet to figure out how to fix it. All Im running is a Diamond D3 12 in a 2 cf box at 29hz with 500 watts running to it.

I have to get the car over to side of the road, open the trunk and push the reset button. It sucks big time..

Mine just started right back up....amp wasn't even hot.

i could be that you are killing your alt and its not putting out enough power to power your car while driving and your system

Only thing I could see it being is that your system was pulling enough juice that it was draining your battery. Your cars ECU runs on the battery...

electronic fuel injection? did all your gauges shut off as well?......either your pulling too much current and your alt. cant recharge your battery with an adequate ammount of power or you have a loose ground like i did and had the same thing happen.

duct tape the switch up. it don't take the head cashier at walmart to figure that out

Yeah... uuhh no. Wont work, its some kind of impact sensor from what Ive been able to find out about it. Im thinking about taking it off and bypassing it. But im not sure its a good idea.

check the connections at the battery.

ok well i know this isnt audio related but my 93 buick regal just shut off when im driving it and the cause is a bad crank position sensor. but i have no system in that car. just figured id let u guys know. if u get the engine diognosed they wshould be able to tell u whats wrong. another thing could be an ingition problem like a distibutor or coil pacs which ever one u may have.

exactly what i said. Check the power from the alt..and the ground from battery...

Everything seems fine now. I just drove around for a while and everything was normal

do you have an amp for ur speakers?....and 2 batteries 1 stock alt isnt a good match lol
