Building my first system, budget hopefully $600. Help me decide?

I have a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 Ex cab(2 and a half doors) and I want to install a custom system. The truck requires 6x9" in the front and 5.25" in the rear and tweeters would be nice. I would like to get a sub but I don't have too much space. Someone suggested that if I get decent enough speakers I would not need a sub, which would be great, and cheaper. By the way I have no idea what I'm doing. I put a list together that I just selected by reading reviews and of course I cant post links on here I guess so Ill copy and past the info from Sonic Electronix below.

every thing you listed is junk ,shouldnt waste your money .i can help you out tho .i am a dealer and a vendor on the forum here .1st off, what are you trying to accomplish with a new system.this will help me better under stand what your wants and needs are ,so i can recommend and show you some equipment .

Well nothing fancy but a system that will sound good, all around. Unless fancy is within my budget which I'm almost sure its not. Whatever can $600 get me?
