my 12" IDQ was to be delivered today but they rescheduled it for tuesday. i was planning on building my enclosure this weekend (for the first time).

do i need the sub to build it? i am specifically worried about the hole for the woofer, not anything else. is it wise to use the dimensions on the spec sheet withotu the actual woofer?

i believe you can cut the mounting hole at 11.5 up to 11.75" the only thing you have to look at should be on the box plans. make sure you have at leas 13.5" on w/e side that the sub is mounting on to get a proper mounting set w/o having to tamper with the box.

also look at your mounting depth. make sure that the measurments allow the sub to sit into the box w/o having the back plate touch the inside wall. 2-3" is good clearance.

other than that, you really don't need the sub with you for your build.
