Building a new system, semi-newb here. Need recommendation.

So I've purchased my amps. I'm not going for anything too insane, but want to have a decent sounding system. I've decided to do a component system, but am confused by all the brands and models. I don't know what to go for.

So far, for amps, I picked up:

JBL BP300.1

150w RMS @ 4ohm

300w RMS @ 2ohm

&

JBL P180.2

90w RMS x2 @ 4ohm

180w RMSx2 @ 2ohm

My plan is to have to BP300.1 on a single 12" or two 10" (depending on my fronts, i think) and a set of 6.5" components up front on the p180.2.

I know this is going to sound cheap, but I'd like to try and keep everything under 200$ (for sub(s) & components.) I'm intending on buying (used?) off of ebay, so please consider that in your recommendations. (This is part of a carputer install and I'm trying to keep everything under a grand.)

What I ask is, given this budget, what speakers would you get. Infinity 6010cs comps and a refrence 1240w sub? (that's what I'm leaning towards right now, but I'm not sure.) I saw some hifonics comps that looked decent, but I haven't heard them before, and haven't heard of hifonics for their speakers. I'm fully open to your suggestions, so lemme have it! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

If I had it my way, I'd just get a set of JBL 608gti's and a soundsplinter RLi-10".. alas, I'm not rich! :p

Many thanks for your responses.

actually that's not a horrible budget

first i would get a mach 5 audio maw12" or a ascendant audio assassin 12"

mach 5 = $56 + shipping

assassin = $70+ shipping

this way you'll have about $130-$150 for components

these don't look too bad...never heard them but zapco usually makes good stuff

cdt is cheap and sounds good for the money (well..their lower lines anyway)

these were my first speakers, they sounded good and did the job well

there are some other speakers that are good for the money but i can't think of any right now lol, this should get you started though

good luck

I'll second the assassin. Also maybe just a decent set of coax's would work for you, like the Pioneer REV's or Kicker KS's. Both get plenty loud and sound good doing it. Should be able to get either for around $75.
