building a new subwoofer

so im building a subwoofer for the first time and im not sure about what all i need. so far i know that i need a motor, basket, and softparts and glue. am i missing anything? and sorry for the noob question i lookked on google and didnt find anything.

and softpars are just the cone, suspencion, and tinsel leads right?

Soft parts= cone, surround, dust cap, voice coil, spider, tinsel leads, voice coil former. I think that's it.

^ correct except the voice coil former is what the coil is wrapped around and only way to take them apart is to slinky the coil.

so lets say i bought a standard bolt pattern motor. and i got the same 6 bolt pattern baskit. can i put two random pieces like that together? and then where would i get a recone kit from?

fixmyspeaker.com would be the source for cones, tensils, voice coils...etc. but there is another site for customized voice coil but i forgot the link for it. even though you got a 6 bolt pattern basket, make sure the size of the voice coil fits in the gap on the vent hole and the top plate of the motor.

well i havent even gotten to that point yet. but its good if i just put two 6 pattern basket and motor together?
