already blew my 12w7

i found a 12w7 for $200 w/ a box on craigslist so bought it. i paired it with an Alpine PDX 1.1000 amp.

i went through some test tunes then played a few actual songs. then it was toast. started to be all crackling.

Yeah if you are buying a 12w7 you never really want to spend less that around 350 at the absolute least. I bought a 10w7 off CL for $200 and knew it was low. so I ran a little power to make sure it worked then just flipped it.

Sending to JL will be your only way of fixing it. Hell shipping both ways will be about as much as you paid for it. ***** man.

JL rep said $280 to fix...i think i will just go back to memphis and pick me up another MOJO. unless there are any other ideas of a single 12" to pair with my 1.1000 amp.

I would just get an 12" Fi Audio BTL and it will crush the mojo and the jl put together.

In all seriousness buying used subs kind of *****, you don't know what it has been through. Sorry to hear about your loss, the W7 isn't all that easy to recone either and costs a lot.
