Building a floor in my trunk

All that is in my trunk right now is a slab of thin wood covering my spare tire with carpet over it...I wondered how i would go about making a new floor that was solid all over, made out of MDF maybe with carpet over it. Id like to make an opening for the spare tire also...it sounds pretty practical im sure i could figure it out myself...any ideas? how would i attach it to the chassis?
