Building a computer

Newegg is gonna be the place to buy your parts from. In the past 4-5 years I've easily ordered over $6k worth of stuff from flash drives and power cords to 9800GX2's and Quad core Intels. Never yet have I had a problem with them. Gimme a minute and I'll look over your stuff. I'm going to assume this is for a gaming rig.

ati right now is killing it i would go with them

get ddr2 RAM not 3 because ddr2 is more efficiant.

a mother board really is up to you its all the same...

and intel just came out with the dual quad core. that is absolutly killing the buiz ...

His mobo/CPU can't even use DDR3 so its out no matter what. I would recommend going with some OCZ Reaper (1066) if you can justify $115 for 4gb of RAM. I have it in my comp right now and it is wicked fast.

If you want to go AMD, that's cool but a dual core Intel is about the best of both world's right now. I also just checked the price on a Q6600 (quad core 2.4 ghz) and it's $180 OEM.

For the video cards, ati is currently slightly better but I've always enjoyed my nvidia's. I've owned a 6800GT, 9800GTX and 2 9800GX2's in SLI. I've been happy with all of them. IMO eVGA makes the best nvidia cards but Asus makes rock solid boards.

Your mobo is good, it could be better. It has nice features but don't forget to disable the onboard video card when you install your big card. They will have conflicts if you don't.

Overall you have a good setup but it could be made alot better with another $2-300 in it. If you have any questions, just hit me up.

AMD > Intel all day. I'll give intel the core extremes, but those are just insanely pricey.

This some of the worst computer advice and spelling I have seen in a while

core 2 duo E8400 @ $165

GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3R @ $120

ATi HD4830 @$130

ZeroTherm BTF90 @$45

My personal recommendation. Theres a slightly cheaper DS3 at $105 with the same chipset. Also the HD4850 is around $160 for a little bit better performance. You'd be very hard pressed to find a better performing system at that money period.

It's all personal opinion. I don't buy intel hardware.
I was the same way. My first 10 builds were AMD based and I swore I would never build Intel. Back then it was the AMD cpus that ran extremely hot. I had to have huge cooling just to overclock my 1ghz T-Bird to 1.4ghz.

I started considering a change when AMD switched to the stupid clock marketing scheme starting with the XP series. They remind me of the Bose and Monster of the cpu world with the only difference being that actually perform decent.

Intel dual and quad is a much better performer for my application and a $50 3ghz dual core cpu that will run at 40°C all day is too good of a deal to pass up
