building a box

hi guys... i bought an infinity 300W 12" sub and i need to make an enclosure..i don't want the box ported....i keep hearing on how precise this needs to be when i make the box and im at a total loss...i have the MBF and plexiglass all i need is some measurements to guid me in the right direction.. this is going in a 93 grand am

my friend has a pair of those subs, he even gave me his spare t/s parameter page so i could build a box for him.

for ported box...the recommended size is 2 cubic feet ported to 30 hz. the sheet also says to use 1 inch polyfil lining within the box, but i dont think you would need it.

if u want sealed, the recommended size is 1.25 cubic feet with polyfil.

basically those subs will be fine in either box. i would go ported if u listen to rap and if you have the room in your trunk. but then i would say go for sealed if u listen to mostly rock music and uh..country...

My friend had 2 of these in his Eclipe spyder GT. He put 400 watts to each and put them in 2.2 cubes sealed. They sounded about as good as I would expect. I would put it in 1-1.2 cubes. Maybe 14X14X14
