Building a box for SA-8 V2 in regular cab ram

Hey guys, I've done a lot of reading on here but this is my first time posting. I've always had room for one or two 12's in previous cars so it wasn't hard to get good bass but in a regular cab I'm short on space already so its hard to justify more room for a subwoofer. I have a sundown audio SA-8 V2 that desperately needs a new home, I stuffed it in a box that was way too small a few weeks ago just to hear it but I'm ready to put in some more time to see what this thing is capable of.

I'm thinking I want a ported box so I can hit the lowest frequencies this 8 is capable of, but if somebody thinks I can make this sub sound good with a sealed box I'm willing to try it. I currently have an amp that will give the sub 500w RMS or another one good for 900w RMS so power isn't an issue. My question is if I build a ported box which way do I want the sub and port to face, same question for a sealed box? I will be using 3/4" mdf to build the box. Attached is a picture showing the space I'm working with, any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!

Did a little more reading and decided that a sealed box it out of the question, my biggest question now is which way should the sub face and which way should the port face? Just looking at doing a simple L port box.

Sub forward port to the drivers side and mount the sub behind the passenger seat. .75cuft net. I have a crew cab and im running four of these my enclosure is tuned at 36hz and I would like it a little lower so I would do 30-33hz.

Would it sound worse with the sub facing up? With the mounting depth and amount of excursion from this sub I would need to have the passenger seat pretty far forward if I wanted the sub facing forward.

I built the box on the sundown website and had both the sub and port facing the drivers side, it sounded good in the drivers seat but awful on the passenger side. I pointed the sub and port upwards next and it sounds awesome in both seats. I cant believe the noise that this little 8 makes. I would highly reccommend this sub to anyone considering it, the box makes all the difference.

It was a tight fit but I think it'll do for now. The passenger seat sits back just as far as my seat normally does so I think its alright.
