building a beastly 8....

I want to try to build a custom monster 8..... what do I need??? Mostly tuned towards spl and burps but I would still like it to be musical????

Here's what I am thinking that I will need.

BIG motor- DD, atomic, Sundown nightshade

8" basket

spiders, foam surround, cone and dustcap, and a 2.5 in. 12 or 8 layer flatwound voice coils

anything else???

and how do I go about doing it??

Does not work out if you want those things to much. Make an overall goal and then move forward.

To make it daily you will lose some of the SPL potential. To make it SPL you lose musical ability.

This..and trust me when I say if you run a strictly SPL sub in a daily setup it will sound like trash lol

If you want an 8" sub for spl burps, that's sort of retarded unless you have a wall, 1" lexan glass, and have to bolt the door on to close it. Otherwise, you're not gonna get loud to start with.
