I've been thinking of doing a build and I want to get started over the summer. I have an 01 civic and currently I just have a ghetto box and 2 type r's so I have some bass. I'm planning on taking out my folding down rear seats and build a box that fires into the cabin sealed off from the trunk with a single 15 or 18.

So this is the part where equipment comes in. What are some good 15 or 18 inch subs and ~2kw amps that I could use. I know nightshades and XL's and RE XXX's and all that is nice but I'm not sure I have the funds for those at the moment. If there are any other (cheaper) options please let me know. HDC3's are really cheap for how good they are. a 15 inch HDC3 with aluminum coils and an AQ 2200d would only cost about 750 dollars shipped brand new

If youre only running an aq 2200d on the hdc3 then you could save money and get the copper coil.

Yeah I actually thought of the Hdc3 right when I posted the topic, that will probably be the way to go. But for sake of airspace, should I go with a 15 rather than 18?

yes go with the 15 cause the 18 will require around 6cuft after displacement of airspace and i dount that civic trunk will have enough area. to do it right
