ive decided its between a single maw-15 or 1 or 2 pg rsd12's.

Power:

i have a jl audio e1800d amp that does 800w at 2 ohms 12.5v and 1000 at 14.4

if i get the maw-15 they only come d4 so i can only run 1,and i dont know if it can handle the extra power.(i would like to use all of the amps power)

if i go rsd's i can get a single d4 and give it the full 800-1000 which i've seen them them handle all day.

or i can go for 2 rsd's single 4's and have them see 4-500w each.

i dont have a box but a sealed, i would be able to build myself, if i decide to go ported i can have someone on this forum build me one and since my dad is a courier for fedes he said he can get me a prepaid shipping tag/sticker so shipping wouldnt be an issue.

the rest of my setup is a 880 h/u, im ordering some slc 265 kicks within the next week(my doors are deadened). and my comp amp is a old school mtx thunder 2300 does 150 x 2 @ 4 ohms 12.5v. should be plenty for the bows with gains set accordingly.

i want the substage to sound good and blend well with the slc's.

my previous substage was a silverface l7 ina 2 cube ported box. so if u could tell me how each would sound compared to that as in sq/spl thats the only way i could really understand.

Musical preference is rap and rock.

Also this is goin in a 2006 altima FYI. (TRUNK CARS FTL!)

Thanks in advanced.

thanks for the reply however i didnt type all of that for no reason i wanted someone to pick out of the ones that i listed.
Well I was going to suggest AA assassins as the new ones should be out soon. Otherwise search for feedback/reviews on the 2 subs you've chosen. On this forum and others there should be plenty of info...

Why does everyone these days who isn't building a strict SPL setup think they are building a 'SQ' setup? At least you did mention the front stage, and that you want to blend them together. Running two decent subs at 1000 watts each there's virtually no way in hell you'll get a conventional component front stage to keep up, but at least you thought about it. I'll give you a half credit point for that.

once again if u read u will see that i said 1 sub with 800-1000 watts or 2 subs with 4-500 each not 2000watts. And i think that a "conventional" componet set will keep up with that. Slc 265 kicks on 150rms a side should keep up i think.

thanks mlstrass ive read up about both but i was hoing some of u had maybe heard em side by side or at least actually heard em? I hear alot of good things about the AA but whats the tag on em look like?

im leaning towards the rsd's sealed as of right now.

Ne one got anything consttructive to add? and u can keep ur half a credit point along with ur posts to urself. U didnt help at all ur a waste of bandwith.

Awwww... did someone get their feelings hurt?

And you still wont blend that substage with your front stage worth a ****. Try looking at some real SQ setups and see if they are running a kilowatt to a ported sub system, then come back and tell me Im wasting bandwidth.

feelings hurt? nahh... at least i know what im talking about... maybe you should read all the way before you add a comment you just look stupid... because youre saying things that i never mentioned.

Im smart enough to see a guy building a "SQ" system using 1000 watts and contemplating a ported system. I wouldn't throw the 'looking stupid' stone around if I were you, dude.

I was just trying to tell you that you are actually building an SQL system, or a street beater. If you say you want a SQ system, people are going to suggest IDQ's and such, which you probably dont want. Better teminology leads to better answers. But you decided to get intensely butt hurt. *shrug* Anyway, good luck with your system.

Have a nice day.

I'm the last person who should be posting here, but since I can I will.

Before you commit, check out this thread:

I tried to link to ecoustics.com but they are down right now...

Read some reviews around on the Rsd's. They love power so I would only reccommend running one, this will also give you some headroom on that amp. I like the TC-1000, if you have enough power then you can run a TC OEM 10. Read the TC Sounds forum on the OEM 10 they to like the power. They are handling upwards of 1500w+ with no problems. I believe someone over there tried one of 650 or 800 watts and was not happy with output.

You have to decide if you are running a SQL or SQ system.

Be careful knocking audioholic he actually has some good knowledge.

well in that case i guess im going for a sql system, ive decided to go with the one d4 rsd and give it the 800-100 and see how that sounds. so if i ever did want louder i could get another and easily get a 1 ohm stable amp to power them right.
