Budget Tens!

I am looking for a pair of tens for around $100-125, and am considering the Cerwin Vega HED 10.4s, which i asked about in a seperate thread but got no response on.... I dont want to buy a woofer without at least getting some feedback about it before buying a pair of them. Even though my budget is only $100, id like to get a nice woofer at least at that level. My last set was some Kicker C-10s from like 15 years ago, which i loved but died on me after being stored in a hot attic.

So, Ive looked at the low-end JBLs, the Kickers, the MTXes, but I dont know who to choose. I even like the specs on the Phoenix Gold Octane ZRs (32mm p-p xmax, 25hz Fs) despite the silly LED lighting (actually the complex dust cover is of concern, not a feature. I have actually found good reviews of the CVs and people have good things to say about all of them basically. But which is the best for SQ, i like my bass LOW and rumbling, not peaky. Sealed enclosure i think about 1cuft per woof...

There are a huge assortment of good budget 10's, as like stated above the CVR's would be a great choice too.

CVRs are awesome budget subs. Built like tanks and sound pretty **** good for what they are.

haha.. in reality life is tough. its a long story but i cant work at the moment due to having to take care of my disabled wife full time. we are working on that whole thing, there are a lot of issues she faces that we have to work out. life must be lived in the mean time and we do enjoy a nice sound system and all we need is a nice bottom to complete the ride. its a real shame i baked the c-10s in the attic, but i guess all good things come to an end. I dont really want to consider any woof with a Fs above 30, so that knocks out the RF for one. I think the Alpine Type-S has a Fs of 32. I currently have an Alpine Type-S 12" in a stuffed and braced 3.0cuft sealed SQ rumble box in a car that is about to be sold. thankfully a friend is going to take that setup off my hands as im about to get my little BMW back, which already has a twin-ten box bolted to the back of the rear-seat bulkhead. two ten-inch holes have been cut and the box is about 2.0cuft total i think if i recall correctly. anyways, about the alpine type-S, the 12" version is actually an awesome sub with amazing SQ and wonderful extension down low with fantasitc articulation at higher bass freqs, but it just wont fit in the other car (not without making another box and further modding the bulkhead, which i dont want to bother with).

The kicker CVR has a Fs of 33hz, which is too high for me. Also the MTXes are 35hz, again too high. (I really loved my old kickers however, but i want to aim a bit lower on that Fs spec.) Right now i think i am leaning towards that Phoenix Gold unless they have a bad reputation on the quality front. i dont really like the LED-lighting and the complicated dust cap they have to use for it, but whatever. That 32mm p-p (16mm linear... i did the math!) xmax spec is pretty nice, and the Fs is a nice low 25hz. if not that then the CV or JBL??

i'll suggest the cvr too. I've used them and am very impressed with their build and ability to get loud.
