budget system

hey a friend of mine is looking for his first system,

he wants a

sub (1 10, 1 12, 2 10's)

amp

ampkit

and box

for around 300 give or take 100

hes looking for a good sounding sub that will thump(listens to 90% rap)

hes thinking about making his box so that should save some money

and i'm talking internet prices non of that retail shit

single 10 i'd go with like a type r or somethin online around 120 i believe, leaves you with 180 left over for just the 300 now if you go up to 400 then you've got 280 left over get a jbl600.1 then like a 4guage wire kit. hope i helped a lil there is much more out there just my suggestion off the top of my head.

thanks, i like the type r, i have 1 12, but how are the kicker comp, do they have a good amount of sq, or are they just for thumping, what kind of sub do they compare to, just thought of them cuz there only 65 for a 10 on ike sound and 69 for a 12

yeah they are more of a thumping sub with more boom in them than SQ in them. i'd stick with type r if i was you.

why not go big? get a 15" kicker comp, its only 140, not bad eh, and the amp i got for mine is jbl 300 which is 145i think, so your only at 285.
