Here are some components I picked out for a budget system in my 1975 Pontiac Lemans.

Now I am not looking to win any competitions or anything, just need to hear some clear music over the built 350 with a loud *** exhaust. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif So does this look like a good setup, for the wiring I'm gonna use some 8 gauge to feed the amps and some 16 gauge speaker wire. I have a soldering gun and heat shrink tubing, wiring doesn't phase me. Here is a pic of the car, getting ready for paint soon.

personally i wouldnt go lower than 8 gauge. 4 is the smallest u should go with 500 and up. just a preferance. maybe 4 back there and 8 off the distro but not the full run in 8 gauge. other than that its not a bad choice of budget equipment.

Please... PLEASE get some better subwoofers. Those are probably some of the worst you could pick.

And build a box, please. A pre-built box is junk. And it'll save you money. If you go to the work of painting a car and building an engine, building a box shouldn't bother you too much.

Ok, what would be a good sub for my money? I think I'm just going to run a single ten since I don't need a ton of bass. What material do I have to use to construct a sub box? Also do all the other components look good? thanks for all the help.

Yeah that stuff up there is junk, unless you like to be cool among the best buy folk //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif.

What's your budget for a sub? Incriminator Lethal Injections, RE SE's, Fi SSD, etc are good.

As for a box, that's just as important as the sub itself. SEARCH on here!! you'll need 3/4" MDF and someone to design it for you. You need to decide if you want ported or sealed. There's a sticky on it, but basically a ported box will give you more spl (it will get louder) while sealed will take up less space but not give as much output. The box you linked is sealed.

Ouch man. Ouch... Making fun of Best Buy? lol I know you haven't seen my thread but if I go through them I get a really good discount and pretty much free installation.

In general your gonna wanna stay away from any best buy or circuit city sale price/ product selection/ limited expertise of their installers. Even for a dicounted price better can alwaysss be done by yourself and quite often for cheaper
