I have a budget system too! I purchased two JL Audio 10w3v2 subwoofers, a Nissan Titan box, and a Rockford Fosgate P5002 for $200. The Titan box was sold for $20 and replaced with the sealed MTX Bass Slammers box from Circuit City for $22.12 shipped to my door!

I think I am doing pretty good at being out of pocket $202.12 for my amp, box, and subwoofers that I am getting ready to throw in my Civic.

the 4awg knu kit would probly be fine with that amp, its probly more like 1.2-1.5kw at 1ohm
