Hey guys. I was wondering what names to look for when purchasing an inexpensive sub. I am slowly piecing together my first system and am on a really tight budget. I'm by no means trying to shake the block, just add some pretty good slump. Already in a box would be ideal. Thanks guys! Awesome site so far. Alot to take in!

Sorry for the late reply. Dave I will be needing to get an amp also. I will be looking for one . I was just wondering what names to look for. there are so many out there, I wanted to stay away from the fleamarket brands. And Ozzy I'm not going for awesome sound clarity since the rest of my speakers are nothin speacial anyway. Just want some loud bump while im driving

Oh ok. That's cool. I would look into MaxxSonics amps; Hifonics, MB Quart, Crunch, and Autotek. They're fairly cheap and reliable. As for a sub, If your budget is under hundred bucks, I would look into a type r. Like a 10". Or Memphis PR's are really cheap and they are really good for what they are. I hope this helps. Kicker CVRs, Alpine Type Rs, and the MTX thunder series are all good budget subs.

Amps would be Audiopipe, Crunches, and Hifonics

Personally I got 2 12" Type Rs and a AP15001d on my car with a HC1800 battery. Does the job good. Loud enough to make people a little upset...but pretty affordable. 1500 watts though...big 3 with 0 gauge and a battery is pretty much a must...also maybe a alt upgrade.

About $350+cost of an enclosure for 400 rms. Not too bad of a starter system. Dont know much about the thunders...im sure someone here can give some input though.

JBL GTO series. The things will get loud off of as little as 100 watts and requires a small ported box. Best budget sub available IMO. The RSD is a viable option as well, it just needs 2x the box volume and probably a bit more power, although I have no personal experience with it.
