Budget Stereo System

I'm trying to put together a stereo with a JVC HU, it has an RCA out that I'm going to run to my Alpine MRP-F450, then daisychain another RCA out to my Pioneer GM5100T. The Alpine will be running at 4x 2ohm 100W RMS powering 2 6.5" JBL GTO627's in the doors, and 2 JBL GTO937's in the rear deck. The Pioneer is going to be running at 1x 4ohm 380W RMS bridged, and I need a decent $150-200 10" or 12" sub and box, that will give some good bass. I've been told that ported is better, but I have no preference. I plan on using 14AWG wire on the speakers, and 12AWG on the subwoofer.

I'm running a 2AWG wire with a 150A fuse near the battery, back to a distribution block with 4AWG going to the amps, 4AWG grounds as well. Power wires and the amp remote wires will be running down the drivers side of the car, and the RCA will be running down the passenger side of the console. The car has a 105A alternator, and I am going to do the big 3 wiring with 2AWG wire. Does this sound like it will all work well together? I know the 6.5's are rated for 60W RMS, is there a way to get these to work or a better type of speaker to use that might cost a bit more? I'd rather spend some money now rather than have to upgrade soon.

I also have a wiring kit to hook up an AUX input to the RCA in on the back of the HU. I am going to upgrade to a new HU in a few weeks, what is a good one for $150-200 that would work well with the rest of the components. I can't really belive I typed all that, but there it is. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif Thanks for your opinions and any help you can provide! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Done properly, posting/blogging on the internet is better than any composition class in school. heh.

Sounds like you have really thought things through on your system. Good luck!

Today I picked up a Clarion DXZ575USB to replace the JVC, I realized that I needed 2 sets of preouts for the Alpine amp, so this one fits the bill rather well. 2 preouts for that amp, a sub out for the Pioneer, and all the preouts are 6v. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif I'm also looking at a 12" Clarion sub and ported box to replace my cheapy subs. The installer at the shop recommended that I use 4AWG wire from the battery, and 8 from the DB to the amps instead of 2 and 4AWG respectively.

If you can go with 2 and 4 gauge respectively, do it. It never hurts to go with a larger diameter wire so you're ready for any possible future changes.
