If your going to use it mainly for your ipod, i would suggest something with a front aux port/usb port. So its easier to access. As I doubt you want to take your cd player out everytime you need to remove your ipod cable.

Why would you ever do that? I'd much rather have a cord running out the back instead of one hanging off the front. You run the cable to wherever you want e.g., the glove box, center console, sunglasses holder. It doesn't matter.
