Budget Build Id & RE

Amazing job, simple and budget, but the money was very well spent. Beautiful Accord too, //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
Thanks man, its what i wanted.....for now at least....lol Im just glad I found this forum and wound up with good information to base my purchases and build strategy on. I didn't know jack 3 months ago- and know I know a lot more. The results are pleasing to say the least and I plan on other car audio ventures down the road!

Anyone know much about load boss alternators form ebay? I was considering getting a 170 amp one for my car so i could have more electrical nuts so to speak. I thinking about running my 4125 strictly up front with some additional kick panels and adding a good mono amp in the 1500rms range for a new sub stage Im unsure about yet..."2x icon 10's....?" However, l have to beef up my electrical platform first. Im thinking a kinetic 1800 up front, and a 600 in the back and of course a 170ish amp alt- my ish lightly dims as is so Im sure its at the brink. Any thoughts?

Very clean install, great looking box too. How do you like those knu triple 0 gauge terminals? I read a review on diymobile and someone recommended the JL triple 0 ones and said the knu ones didn't hold the wire very good.

Just out of curiosity, I understand if its not something you want to say, but how much did you spend total? It is a very good budget buy IMO and I am curious how much the "bare essentials" cost.

...This was your first build? wow, I've seen installs done buy guys in this hobby for years that haven't looked this clean. I'm impressed man.
Thanks man. I did have (2) kicker xpl 12's and eclipse coaxials with a power acoustic amp and denon tape deck in my first car back in high school. However, I was 16, and didnt know anything but how to make it work and hook it up. Lets just say it was really cool for a 16 year old in the school parking lot and was ghetto fab at best. Now im 29 and things have changed. I did ALOT of research before I chose what to buy, and how to set it up to get something decent. i also took my sweet *** time installing it all cause im anal about my car. Everything short of mounting and balancing my wheels/ tires on this car has been done by me.

That explains a lot. With age comes the desire to have clean builds and not just throw everything in. Still a very nice install man.

They work great from what I have seen however, you have to trim the shielding off the wire just right and spread the strands out perfectly before you tighten down on the nut. If you bare down on the nut to hard and your wire gets in the treads, you'll shear the nut right off. Other than that, they are pretty nice IMO. Then again, I am new the the car audio game...lol

Well, The Hu is something I had in the car for some time now. I got it for $199.00 back when circuit city was going bust.

A general breakdown of cost:

MBQ 4125 : $ 164.99 shipped from Ebay

ID ctx comps : $ 212.00 out the door from a local car audio shop. Could have bought them for 189.00 shipped but supported the little guy this time.

RE sub : $ 150.00 shipped from Ebay. They wanted $169.00, but I did the "or best offer" option and they let me have it- I was shocked.

Rattle trap : $ 129.00 shipped from Ebay Mad cheap for 100'^3 of 80 mil deadener. I will however invest in second skin next time. enough said.

0ga wire : $ 108.00 shipped from Ebay its no name 100% ofc no tined copper wire w/ ~5100 strands

the rest of the odd crap is about 150 bucks worth of bat terminals, ring terminals, pretty stinger 0 to 4 ga reducers, 50' of knu kl3 14 ga wire, 5' of knu kl3 12 ga wire, wire boots, mdf rings for the doors, xtc baffles, stinger helix rcs's Im sure im missing something, but thats about all of it. Oh ya, the **** box was about 70 bucks to make too- 4x8 mdf $38.00 at lowes, 8 bucks for the glue, 5 bucks for the mounting screws, 5 bucks for the speaker terminals, and 24 bucks shipped for the areoport. and 4 cans of krylon primer, and 6 cans of krylon satin black at like 3 bucks or so a can at wally. All the little shit really adds up!

Gotta hate it when you shear your nuts //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
Ya! Im glad I did it on the ground terminal!!!!!!- Needed all three positive! But ya, gotta be a little careful...with the nuts and all;)
