If you're up for dabbling in a 4th order design I have one for you (although what I want might not be possible).
I've been reading and reading and still have questions. I'm considering building a stealth box for a 12W7 or 13W7, but for it to be stealth I have a lot of requirements.
I went on this calculator:
Bandpass Subwoofer Box Design (Fourth-Order)
Figured with a .7 S factor:
Volume vented 1.416 ft
Volume sealed 2.327 ft
Freq tuned to 37.5Hz
F3 23.1
Passband 23.1-60.9
Gain .04
Running the numbers through WinISD I got:
Vol vented 1.388
Vol Sealed 2.228
Tuned to 38.19
I've read the online calculators can be a little off for BP enclosures, so what volumes would you go with?
If I do this it would be in my hatch area. The flat area I have to work with is 37"x24"x7". It sits on top of the spare tire well which is 23"x17"x9". It is about 5 ft^3 total to work with.
How do you figure the port sizes? Is it based off tuning the combined volume or just the volume of the vented portion?
I could go with up to two 5" round ports or possibly two 6"x6" square ports. If I need more port area I'll have to scrap the project completely, as there are only 2 locations I can place the ports.
Thanks for the help.
