//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif My 1500D is putting out well over 1500wrms by alot. And I would still say my HDC3 is plenty loud off of it.
you sure about that? whats your electrical like? and your load? all i see is a hc800 for electrical...

this is off a 60hz sine wave, which isnt happening off music...so again, im willing to bet you arent getting 1500w...

results from the sundowns...
Test Vehicle.. mine.. 05 aveo..

RMS clamp and dmm, as seen in the 12" test session..

This testing includes recent results, and not so recent..

woofers used.. 2 Mags (1.9 dcr per coil), 2 FI Q 12's (1.4 dcr per coil)

either used 1 sub or both of the pair for loads..

pure 60hz sine was used to tested.. just under audible clipping

1 amp, single 1000ca everstart maxx, factory alt

4 ohm nominal = 518 watts @ 88% efficiency (voltage fell from 14.3v, to 14.0v)

2 ohm nominal = 948 watts @ 85% efficiency (voltage fell from 14.3v, to 13.6v)

1 ohm nominal = 1510 watts @ 78% efficiency (voltage fell from 14.3v, to 12.4 volts

.5 ohm nominal = 1615 watts @ 72% efficiency (voltage fell from 14.3v, to 11.8v)

.35 ohm nominal = 1748 watts @ 67% efficiency (voltage fell from 14.3v, to 11.4v)
and this doesnt even factor in power factor, which means the results are a little bloated //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

edit: btw, i never said your hdc wasnt loud off the sundown. i just said it would do better with the copper coil configuartion. its not like you're getting 2500w out of the 1500d

hey george... did you catch me trying to get Meade to jump on the AQ wagon... didnt turn out how i had planned though LOL
i didnt. im not surprised though. the btl is a good sub, and so is the hdc. if he's not having problems with the btl, he probably wont give it up lol.

Those test are dont by sundownz using the worst case possible. Look at the test Lilmaniac did which I believe had 2000wrms at 14v as Jacobs I believe were done after the drop in voltage. I have a huge napa battery under the hood rated at over 1000cca and the kinetik in the back with big 3 done. Voltage is not dropping below 13.6

I didnt like my 12 HDC3 off 500.1 @ 4ohm....rated at 1250watts i believe....dk what it was getting but i didnt let it last to long like that

My type r and planet audio big bang 12 was louder with same power......id def. say with the alum coil 2000 watts is a must.....for me at least, but that wasnt broken in so it was prolly worse off than it would be now

Just my opinions

I agree... The aluminum coil really shines on a "True" 1.8 top 2.5 k...
If your going to be running a SAZ1500D wait for the copper coils to hit....

haha...howd they use worst case possible?......theres only one way to do it

worst case possible? hardly. those are what one would expect from an average setup from 90% of people. 1 battery with a factory alt. is it the best setup? no. but its whats most common.

id like to see a link to this thread as well. im sure it also doenst factor in the power factor right? and its off his 16v setup, that happened to drop to 14v during testing? what load?

and before anyone starts saying im trolling sundown audio...let it be known that i am planning to upgrade to 2 hdc315's and 2 saz3000d's in the future //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif. so dont get me started.

Yeh i think 2 Sundowns strapped at like .35 and off 16v or 18v did like 5400 watts or something.....now thats BESTTTTTT case scenario

I got 944watt when i clamped mine at 1ohm nominal and rising to 3 ohm
