BTL vs HDC3

you're not gonna gain anything by tuning 1hz lower (assuming your last box really was tuned to 36hz).
you should aim for a ~5hz reduction if you want something decently noticible.

I agree, except my box was built by a friend for me and even tho he said said it was 36hz i think it was 38hz when i tried to calculate it and it was built like crap air was escaping everywhere. I had to remove the box i tested the sub in which I built which was 3.0 cubes and tuned to 35 hz. it sounded better but just didn't fit in my car how I wanted. Bj fisher is building my new one.

the only difference about your application is the 4runner...why not make a thread asking about what kind of tunings work great in that particular vehicle instead of another hdc thread?

sounds good, except theres only like two people on here with 4 runners, at least that I know of, so I wanted to keep it a little more general to get the opinion of others who dont have 4runners but still know what they are doing

the hdc will not be a worthwhile upgrade. i would stick with the btls. i would build a box 7.5-8 cubes tuned to 35hz with 120-140^2 of port.

Same....if you already have BTLs...there would be no gain in getting HDC3
