Basically a shop is being shady and selling online so they remove the numbers so JL can't trace the sale back to the shop. JL goes after online sales pretty bad.

All JL products sold online have the Ser #'s removed because there are NO authorized online dealers for JL. They demand that their retailers are B&M locations due to customer service standards.

IS this affect just JL products only or does it applies to other as wells...(pionneers, kenwood, Alpine, and etcs...)

It happens on Arc Audio and Alpine as well.
