are rocksfordfostgate amps any good

RF's amps will generally output more wattage than they are rated for (you'll have to check the birthsheet that comes with the individual amp to verify for certain)

As far as reliability is concerned I haven't owned a current RF amp in a great long while so I really couldn't say (I just recently acquired a 1991 model RF amp just for kicks)

I've owned two of the Rockford Punch series amps, the P3001 and P4002, and they were both great. The P4002, said to be 400 watts rms, came with a birthsheet that said 582 RMS at 4 ohms bridged. So they DO put out more power than you'd expect. They run a little too expensive for my taste though, compared to some amps you could get online for cheaper (hifonics).

The old school Power1000 all chrome with digital layout were awesome.

Old school punch amps delivered more than their ratings. Dont know about newer stuff.
