Bring em home

Well that explains a bit. BOTH Clintons are on record stating that Saddam needed to be brought down because of his WMD's and Iraq needed to be invaded. This was at the end of Bill's term. Bush simply picked up where he left off.How so? I'm making more money now then ever before.

So what. That only impacts criminals. Why are you protecting criminals?

Now I know you're either stoned or retarded. What does Bush have to do with public education? That's impacted at the state level. Have you voted yet?

Sounds to me like you sit at home with mom and dad and watch their 'intellectual' conversations over a couple hours of good ol' CNN.
If Bush just picked up from Clinton, then why did he wait so long to act??? I know that there were instances during Clintons terms where Hussein stirred things up a little, but I don't remember anything about invading Iraq coming up.

You might be making more money, but cost of living for most people is increasing faster than their income. This country is in a recession and you CAN'T argue against that.

As for the "protecting criminals" comment, I would expect nothing else from a Bush supporter. The point is it simply opens the door for more privacy invasions. I'm all for protecting our country, but we spend millions of dollars implementing a system that hasn't produced any results and stands in defiance of the constitution.

And what does Bush have to do with education? Perhaps you've forgotten a little thing called the No Child Left Behind Act. Since that act was passed, I've seen more and more school programs go down the toilet. It hasn't increased the quality of education (If a school fails to meet standards, they change the standards more often than the school). A very large portion of funding for public schools comes from the Federal government. Bush has something to do with it. Unfortunately, no major education-related matters have come up for vote since I became of age. I do vote however, and since the election in 2006, things are starting to turn around here. But there's only so much a barely-blue state can do when forced to cooperate with a neoconservative Federal government.

And as for your closing statement, I am one of the most intelligent people you will probably ever talk to (read: borderline genius, tested multiple times). I happen to have been placed in several of the advanced education programs that no longer exist because of your beloved Bush. I also have never touched illegal drugs in my life. Your personal attacks lead me to believe you no longer have fuel for your fatally flawed arguments.

And my parents don't watch CNN. Why would they? They pay more attention to things like Paris Hilton than anything else. My family is certainly not overly liberal. My father voted for Bush the first time around. He was smart enough to change his mind after the first term.

Socialized medicine isn't all bad...it has it's successes and it's failures here in Canada. Switzerland's approach results in a lower taxation. And taxation isn't that big of a problem here...the real problems can be attributed to wait times, stay times, and choice.

I think the best approach is somewhere in the middle.

If another republican wins, I'm moving to Canada.
Hmmm, I was thinking the same....if Clinton one. I just don't trust the *****(not that I really trust any politicians //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif ). I can't imagine what all the muslims would start plotting if a woman wins //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif

If obama or clinton win, I wonder how many rednecks will be plotting their assassination.

Do0d, it would be substantially higher. Right now your dad pays a portion of his premium and his company more than likely subsidizes the rest. Under socialized healthcare, he would be paying the entire amount of the premium and then some because he'd have to cover those that don't pay taxes just like he does today.
LMFAO. I'm going to have to stop replying to you if you keep this retardation up.

The government isn't going to pay ANYTHING! The people are the ones that get the bill.

That's almost as stupid as the previous comment.

For legitimate reasons. I'm not intentionally defending Bush. I'm merely point out that you have a lot to learn.

Most intelligent thing you've said in this thread.
You may be right on the first point. However, my dad's insurance takes out as much money as income tax does, maybe more. Overall, I don't think it would be that much of a difference, considering money would be taken from everyone. That includes 15 year old kids working summer jobs, people who don't pay for insurance now, everyone. Besides, there are alot of people (read: illegals) that pay taxes (albeit with fake SSNs) and wouldn't be able to recieve the benefits they'd be paying for. More than enough to compensate for those not paying taxes. I'm not saying the system isn't flawed. But something should be done, even if it's not full-fledged socialized medicine.

As for the government not paying for anything, the money goes to the government. They get to decide where it goes. Look at medicare. the government TELLS hospitals what they'll pay for prodedures for the people medicare covers, and the hospitals are forced to accept that. There is a reason perscriptions and other things cost less in Canada.

I willingly admit that I don't have all the answers. However, my bias springs from the failures ouf the current administration. There are/were republican candidates that I think could make decent presidents. But if we get someone like Romney in office, we'll just end up getting more of the same. If Ron Paul ended up in office, I wouldn't flee the country. However, I honestly believe that the democrats will be good for the country. At least with a democratic president AND congress, they'll be able to get something done. Bush vetoes bills so fast, it makes my head spin.

I guess that is just evidence of how old you were. I'm not sure what you want me to say about that.
The only thing that I have noticed is that gas prices are going up. Where is this recession and cost of living hike? Hell even poor people in my state are offered 8 bucks an hour on minimum wage in my state.

What makes you think you'd know if there were any results? Why do you think you ahve the right to be told? Course, since I'm not a Bush supporter and you don't have me pegged quite yet, I question what you are trying to get at.

I hate to break it to you, but the No Child Left Behind Act was implemented WAY before Clinton was even elected president. I witnessed it first hand. It just didn't have a snazy name tag or Act to hide behind.

That doesn't make you smart, sparky.

The price of EVERYTHING has been going up. And a 50%+ increase in the price of one of our most used commodities is no small matter. The stock market has been dropping for the majority of Bush's time in office. The US Dollar is in the toilet. I don't know where you live, but minimum wage here was still under $6 an hour last time I checked. Madison implemented a city-wide increase last year I believe, but still.

As for the results of the Patriot Act, with Bush's approval ratings through the floor, he'd parade anyone he caught around every major city. They spout tons of information on the web and on tv these days. The public would have heard something.

You may be right about the NCLBA being in practice before it was actually named and approved by the president. I can't say. I really don't remember much before Clinton. However, I can say that since the Act was formally passed, quality of education has been steadily declining. Whether or not Bush started it, he failed to stop the decline and I feel that he has actually contributed to it. Bottom line: education has gotten worse under his watch and something needs to change.

If you honestly doubt my intelligence, name some fields that measure it and I will tell you of my accomplishments in those fields. No one who has ever met me has considered me of anything less than great intelligence. It should be obvious that I can formulate an argument, despite the fact that you believe me to be laboring under false pretenses.

By the way, your grammar is slightly flawed, and you misspelled "snazzy.";)//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

Please, enlighten me as to why the deduction is so high.

I have had a lot of experience with the healthcare system in the past two years, seeing as my grandparents died of ALS and cancer. I'm not going for sympathy, I'm just stating the facts. Medicare pays less than what hospitals normally charge. Honestly, do you really think the government would permit the rampant overcharging that goes on now if they were paying for it? There's a connection between lower costs and government-controlled healthcare.

I can't remember the name of the Act, but I believe California, among other states, made it considerably more difficult for illegals to obtain healthcare. Don't quote me on that, it's just something I vaguely remember from a Sociology class I took a while back.

Of course bills cost money. Progress costs money. Stagnation certainly won't help us in the future.
